Nuclear Power in N.E.?
Discussion

Make a case for expanding our use of nuclear power to generate electricity in New England .

75% of France's energy comes from nuclear power. On the surface, it brings more jobs and prosperity to the surrounding towns. Only a small amount of fissionable uranium is necessary to create enough energy for a large city for an entire year. It would reduce our dependence on foreign oil and release us from the grip of OPEC and their skyrocketing prices. Nowadays, we don't use nuclear energy because we don't have to, as we are a country rich in coal, but soon we will need to rely on something else, as coal is non-renewable. The amount of dangerous waste is minimal, and can be buried underground. Nuclear power plants are proven safer in this country.

* Has less of an environmental impact than fossil fuels (esp. coal)
* It emits very few pollutants into the atmosphere
