Nuclear Power in N.E.?
Discussion

focus.jpg

Nuclear energy comes from the process of induced fission.

Induced Fission:

* U-235 decays naturally

* Free neutron runs into a U-235 nucleus

* U-235 becomes unstable and splits immediately

* Reaction creates a lot of energy

To produce nuclear energy, this reaction must be controlled.

An example of an uncontrolled reaction is in a nuclear bomb.
